Self Employment Course

This 2 day module has been specially developed to help you get your business up and running.

The following topics will be covered:

Identifying your customers
Developing a marketing plan
Working out how much to charge: personal budgets, overheads, profit margins
Cashflow forecasts
Drafting a business plan
Tax & VAT
Don’t despair if you think this module sounds ‘dry’ – it isn’t. It’s good, focused fun! Prior to the module you will be sent a list of information to bring with you and you will leave with a draft business plan.

Eileen & Allan Sutherland will facilitate the course. They are great exponents of self employment as a vehicle for achieving life/work balance. Allan uses a Permaculture approach to business planning. Eileen is a co-director of Straw Works and together they have built a strawbale house in Bulgaria. Tea & Coffee will be provided on both days.
Please bring your own lunch or order from the cafe at Hackney City Farm. Both days begin at 10.00 and end at 4.00.
