1-day Introduction to Timber Frame repairs 4th June and 1st October 2013

Become more knowledgeable about traditional timber frame repair methods. Develop your carpentry skills. These days are made up of theory and light practical sessions. The repairwork on Orchard Barn is an excellent example of what can be achieved by trainees - undertaken during 2009 under the tutorage of master craftsman Rick Lewis. An Introduction to Timber Frame repairs will enable you to understand traditional carpentry joints, make an informed choice of timber, use authentic hand tools and undertake an analysis of repair strategy. The course is designed for homeowners, builders, architects, surveyors or anyone with an interest in learning how to preserve timber frame buildings.
Continuing Professional Development certification is available from the Institute for Historic Building Conservation.
