Course summary

Permaculture takes nature as the model for designing human systems, be it a garden, a building, or even a website!

The Introduction to Permaculture weekend is ideal for those who aren't able to commit to the full 12 week design course but want to learn more about permaculture and sustainable living in a supportive atmosphere of like-minded folk. No experience is necessary, though an interest in gardening and sustainable living will help!

This weekend is funded by Adult Education Gloucestershire via Stroud Valleys Project. As a result we can offer it at a reduced rate of just £60 for the weekend, or £42 if in receipt of certain benefits.

The course comprises of two days of talks, discussions and activities, during which we’ll explore the ethics and philosophy and the basics of Permaculture design. There'll be plenty of outdoor activity, and a guided walk to observe natural systems and useful plants and learn how to apply nature's wisdom to our own systems. We'll look at examples of projects and plots from around the UK to give an idea of the range of possibilities of Permaculture.

The Introduction Course is held over a weekend. It is informal and participatory with plenty of time to talk and relax over a shared lunch.

The course is not residential.
