Herbal Healing in Hay Meadows with Helen Rideout and Heather Ware

Heather Ware and Helen Rideout are Medical Herbalists with more than two decades of experience combined. They have an inexhaustible passion for herbs and love to share their wisdom with budding herbalists and complete novices alike. They have been running very popular herbs walks, hands-on garden sessions in their medicinal herb garden, and courses & workshops for the last few years.

They both spend their lives gathering herbs and making medicines, seeing clients and helping with them regain their health, naturally.

The workshop will be a mixture of practical and theoretical herbal learning experiences suitable for those with previous knowledge of herbal medicine and total beginners alike. The session will include:

- a guided herb walk around the meadows exploring plant identification, properties, uses and folk history and of course, carefully gathering some of the beautiful herbs to make medicines with

- an experiential herb study with on of the herbs we've gathered

- making a tincture and a herbal infused vinegar. You'll take home hand outs with instructions on how to make these and other herbal preparations.

The workshop is part of Meadow Connections festival, a three day long celebration of upland hay meadows held at Lower Winskill Farm near Settle, North Yorkshire.

The ticket entitles you to choose two out of 6 different half day workshops repeated twice throughout the day, 10-12.30 in the morning and 2-4.30 in the afternoon.

Tickets include lunch and evening meal as well as camping at the farm and entrance into the Farm Open Day and Northern Scythe Championships on Sunday 9th July
