Course summary

Learn how to encourage and enjoy more wildlife in the garden, whatever your style and preferences. Using a permaculture design inspired approach, this course will help you to plan a garden for people and wildlife – one that, importantly, reflects your personal situation and available resources. By introducing the principles of how to garden with wildlife you will discover how to make the most of features by helping them to work together for mutual benefit.
Building on this essential foundation, you will discover how to design multi-purpose ‘mini-habitats’ such as small ponds, mini meadows, copses and shrubberies. Other aspects such as bird boxes, log piles and the role of natural food growing will also be included. By the end of this course you will be able to avoid common pitfalls and plan for a successful and inspirational wildlife-friendly garden.
The course is fully accredited by Aberystwyth University giving you the opportunity to study at Higher Education CQFW level 4, giving 10 credits which are excellent for professional development.
