ABOUT THE COURSE
A practical, hands-on learning experience in how to prune various fruit and nut trees so that they are healthy and productive. Including some brief theory sessions in the classroom, this pruning course will be very practical giving participants the chance to experience the pruning process for themselves at our beautiful 55-acre woodland educational Centre in the heart of the South Downs National Park By the end of the course you will understand why we prune our fruit and nut trees, what equipment to use and when is the best time to cut them back.
THE COURSE WILL GIVE PARTICIPANTS
Ability to increase the health and productivity of fruit and nut trees
Knowledge of fruit trees and their life cycles, equipment and maintenance
Chance to try out practical skills on our Centre's fruiting trees
Variety of pruning techniques understood
Ability to restore old trees and ensure young trees get off to the best start
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Tim Harland is co-founder of both Permaculture Magazine and Permanent Publications. He is a wealth of knowledge regarding productivity and working with nature to provide the best possible yield. Tim has most recently featured on Monty Don's BBC programme, 'Big Dreams Small Spaces', with his inspirational Forest Garden.
