FREE Courses for Community Composters - Sheffield CCN have teamed up with a Green Estates, a hands--on social enterprise in Sheffield to develop a new FREE training course for community composters in using their compost in a range of innovative new ways.

The course will enable anyone interested in or working with compost to expand their level of knowledge and options for what to do with it (and subsequently increase their sources of income).
 

It will include:

  • Practical sessions on scaling up your composting activities
  • Diversifying into landscape contracts
  • Expanding the social dimensions of compost uses
  • A practical workshop on Green Roofs and Living Walls
  • A marketing workshop
  • Ideas factory
  • Mini case studies
  • A session on goal setting and next steps for those who want to take it further.

About the venue- Green Estate is a mile from Sheffield centre in the remaining part of the Great Sheffield Deer Park. It was set up to regenerate derelict land in Sheffield into green spaces. Its now almost self-funding through a variety of commercial and social activities, including green space making and management, composting, landscape design, green roofs, training and food growing.

It's a short bus ride from Sheffield station. Full details of how to get there by bus, tram, or car will be sent when you book.

Bursaries will be available to help with travel and accommodation costs

The course may be repeated in the future but it won't be free!
