Course website http://www.shop.whistlewoodco… Dates and times Sun, 3 Sep 2017, 1am More info 10am to 3pm Cost £35 (limited concessions available also) Course summary The morning session will guide you through the theory of forest gardens, with topics such as: the seven layers of a forest garden site selection and external factors plant choices design considerations (fertility, placement) planting and maintenance Lunch will include forest garden produce and a chance to taste some more unusual varieties. In the afternoon we will take a tour of Sarah’s six year old forest garden which has a wide range of fruit, vegetables and craft materials. This was planted in 2011 as part of a National Forest Changing Landscapes scheme. Workshop leader Sarah Spencer is an experienced forest gardener, having created two forest gardens – at her own smallholding and at Melbourne Junior School. She holds a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design.
