Course summary

Welcome to our six week Summer 2016 Permaculture Internship program. We have created a path were you will be immersed in our community and learning intensively through a series of courses, classes, “hands on” sessions, walk and talk, interactive exercises, and more. Our vision aims to connect the participants to a well-developed permaculture site and local community, while diving into multiple topics. Through this extended and diverse experience, we seek a feeling of empowerment within yourselves, which leads to having a positive impact on the world situation.
In the past 10 years, both Treeyo Permaculture, Escola da Terra ( Waldorf education ) and Terra Alta have been involved in the education of hundreds of people that have initiated projects that are still active and thriving around the globe. We expect this course to be a continuation of that and to be an intensive and immersive learning experience.
This program includes a 2 week PDC- Permaculture Design course with an international recognized certification and a 10 day timber framing/natural building course. It also features a weekend workshop on the topic of Aquaculture and its application within permaculture. Besides the courses, we will be immersed in the day-in-day out management of the site all the while implementing new projects. Various topics will be discussed in further detail in a classroom setting with dynamic social permaculture facilitation. This combination is a fast track to gaining a comprehensive grasp of Permaculture and confidently going ahead from there. We will have six contact hours for the days courses aren’t happening, which gives ample time for beach exploration and social interaction. These six hours will be a diverse facilitation style each day with food forest management being the backdrop.
