Course summary

Herbs have been used for first aid through the ages. In years gone by we would have learned simple, safe and effective remedies from our families.

Well known plants like Marigold, Comfrey, St John’s Wort, Lemon Balm, and many more have very practical, safe & effective uses that can make a very real, positive impact on your health & well being.

As well as learning how to make infused oil, gardener’s hand balm & healing poultices, we will share knowledge about foods as medicines, to show the therapeutic benefits of certain common items of diet in protecting our bodies from illness & helping to sustain & strengthen our general health.

Kath Antonis is medical herbalist at the Haven in Leeds, and latterly has been a clinician and student supervisor at Queen Square Wellness Centre, linked to Leeds Metropolitan University. She has her own practice near Skipton, North Yorkshire & her passion is sharing her knowledge on our rich herbal traditions. She runs workshops on allotment medicine, food as medicine, wild medicine & herbal first aid.
