This will be New School Permaculture most important course of the year and one of the Edge events of the EUPC.

After many years listening to europeans students asking Helder to do a PTC, the time has arrived for people in this continent to have availabke and experiment with New School Permaculture educational ToolBox.

After teaching on more than 30 PDCs and 30 other diverse courses like PSC Permaculture Social courses, Food Forest Courses, Permaculture Water Course, Permaculture soil course Helder have been developing very simple tools to create a good learner, after all to be a good teacher its very usefull to be a better learner.

On that process Helder been focusing most of his energy on learning from poor people in every country he visits and try to understand that openess.

After traveling more than 30 countris and working with people in the deep amazon were rivers have deep oil polution or with quechua people in the Andes and having to face air polution due to mine extractions, there came a powerfull moment of transition.

This transition is the vision of the New School Permaculture and its to provide alternative creative educational thinking and practice by supporting people on having a different perspective on ecosocial design.

To do that we focus on what is essential and fundamental.

On this course you will learn about what are the main patterns in education and how to manage them in a way that the students get empowered.

How to design a lesson and a classroom, how to develop a course, promotion and preparations, hosting and celebration.

How to teach a PDC or any other course of any kind and how to make a living out of it, supporting the needs of nature and of people.

Hope to see you in the north of italy

During the course we will be focusing on the tools and techniques for teaching and facilitating permaculture learning and the practicalities of convening and running courses.

The course will be lively and interactive on all levels using plenty of diversity in teaching styles. We will be looking at the whole process of running a course – from finding a venue and course publicity to evaluation and follow up, as well as how to plan a session, then teach it creatively and inspirationally.

Topics covered:
Teaching methods ~ Preparing training sessions ~Training tools ~ Flowing feedback skills ~ Games & energisers ~ Facilitation skills ~ Course culture ~ Presentation skills ~ Micro-session preparation ~ Convening courses ~ Course design ~ Learning methods

The course aim is to empower people to realise their own skills as facilitators and we will be using methods for building the confidence of the participants throughout, including each participant having many chances to put into practice what they have learned. The aim is to support participants on their teaching career beyond the course – in Permaculture and other subjects. Depending on their existing experience and knowledge, course graduates will have the skills to apprentice teach on a PDC or specialist course, or to convene and lead an Introduction to Permaculture course.
