We are happy to annouce to have Stefan Sobkowiak from Les Fermes Miracle in Canada with us in Spain for a 2 day intensive Permaculture Orchard workshop. Stefan is well know from his Movie" The Permaculture Orchard -beyond organic " and has over 20 years of experience in Permaculture and Orchard management.

Stefan Sobkowiak

Trained as a biologist and landscape architect, Stefan has taught fruit production, landscape plants and design, and natural history of vertebrates at Montreal’s McGill University. He owned a landscape design firm for 20 years, developping hundreds of projects for private, institutional and municipal clients. He’s been teaching permaculture in Quebec since 1995. Stefan is the owner of Miracle Farms since 1993.

Packed with case studies, visits, design sessions, foraging and more this is an ideal course for a beginner as well as someone designing their own project. Day 1 is full of information and inspiration. Day 2 is about application.
The course will cover:
• Origins & principles of forest gardening.
• Perennial food growing,
• Applying permaculture principles• Design with trees, shrubs and ground cover.
• Implementation of design and aftercare.

This course is open to all, no previous experience is necessary to attend, forest gardening attracts interest from experienced gardeners and professionals as well as newcomers. There will be practical sessions and design exercises. We will be outdoors for much of the course and will be site visits to a home forest garden and Brogdale, home of the national fruit collection.
If you have a project there will be an opportunity to develop your ideas within the course. You can let us know on the booking form.
By the end of the course you will have a basic knowledge of the ideas and principles of forest gardening as well as understanding some of the techniques necessary to put the theory into practice.
The weekend will be led by Jo Barker and guest, Jo is an experienced & passionate Forest Garden Designer and teacher who has worked on various projects, ranging from woodland, farm, home garden and community projects spanning nearly 20 years. With a professional background in Landscape Architecture and Permaculture Design she brings strong design skills. Examples of designs will be available on the course.
