Hannah Thorogood will be leading a full PDC in Leicester over 6 months, starting in January 2012.

This is a Full Permaculture Design Course, leading to award of an attendance certificate from the Permaculture Association UK.

Costs:-

£70 (Introduction to Permaculture only)

£420 for all six weekends (including Introduction to Permaculture)

£80 (£50 concessions) Green Roof Course – this is an additional cost but attendance is optional.

Summary: 

The course will run over the last weekend in each month, from January to June 2012:--

- January 28th/29th (Introduction to Permaculture)
- February 25th/26th (Option to attend a Green Roofs Course on the 25th)
- March 24th/25th
- April 28th/29th
- May 26th/27th
- June 23rd/24th

Hannah has over 10 years experience teaching permaculture and this is the second course to run in Leicester (See http://sites.google.com/site/shirespermaculture/ for more information on the previous PDC group).

We are applying for a grant to allow participants on low incomes to attend at a subsidised rate. If this is not successful, we should still be able to offer some reduced rate places, once the basic course costs are covered.

Venues are still to be confirmed, but will be in Leicester or very close by.

Refreshments: Tea and Coffee will be provided but please bring vegetarian food to share for the midday meal.

Urban Permaculture Full Design Course, Scotland

This course is aimed at urban dwellers who want to work out how to improve it, towards a truly
sustainable future. Participants should ideally have completed an introduction to permaculture course or have some experience/knowledge of permaculture before attending this course.

On a full permaculture design course you will learn how to fit together the elements of sustainable living including food, shelter, energy and community, in a healthy, productive, integrated system. We can use permaculture design methods to improve the quality and productivity of our individual lives, our society and our environment, using principles including ‘minimum effort for maximum effect’. You will also complete a design project, learning how to apply your new knowledge.
If you cannot make one of the weekends, it is possible to make up for this module by attending a
module of the course being run concurrently in Edinburgh (also over weekends).
