Learn the basics of Permaculture on this week long Introduction course. A wonderful opportunity to come and experience life on a Permaculture farm.
Learn and practise permaculture at our home site in the Andalucian mountains. With a very hands on approach to teaching, you will leave with knowledge & confidence. You will be able to apply the basics to your own life.
What does the course offer?
A hands on experience in the basic elements of Permaculture.
An understanding of the principles & ethics, where Permaculture came from and how to improve your life in the future.
Practical activities, including soil, composting, water systems & preservation, mulch, tree guilds and planting.
You can see examples of Permaculture in use at our home site. We are a Permaculture Farm, eating and benefiting every week from using permaculture principles!

The courses have a maximum of 6 people, giving everyone the opportunity to discuss how these principles can be applied in their own life.
The courses are fun and light hearted!
This is a residential course, offering 3 Vegan or Vegetarian meals a day, veggies & Microgreens from our own farm including drinks and accommodation.
Accommodation: A restored Finca, with large kitchen,2 bathrooms, 3 double bedrooms, outside Terrace and BBQ/pizza oven.

Discover how one fascinating idea became a system of design that is helping individuals and communities the world over to find ways of living more sustainably. Find out how being inspired by the natural world can support and enrich your own plans or designs, in the garden, home or community.
During the day we will explore the history, ethics and principles that define permaculture and see examples of how the ideas have been implemented. We will look at various project processes and design frameworks useful for implementing permaculture, together with some handy thinking tools, illustrated with practical exercises. The day will also include an opportunity to take part in a simple design exercise based on a real project.
There is an option to stay into the evening for an informal meal and social, priced at £5 per person.

Airton Barn is attached to the historic Airton Friends Meeting House in the south-western corner of the Yorkshire Dales. An attractive and tranquil setting, the Barn is host to courses, workshops and social events as well as providing simple overnight accommodation to visitors.
