This is a non-residential 72-hour design course which covers a wide range of topics such as housing, gardens, community, soil, water, and more. Participants are encouraged to share their own knowledge and experience on these subjects. There are many practical and participatory sessions and plenty of opportunities for getting your hands dirty. There will be off-site visits, and time for participants to work on their own design projects, with input from course tutors. This course is suitable for those who have already attended an introduction course.

Permaculture Design Course

This exciting and engaging full 72hr PDC is followed by a 3 week internship (16th Aug-4th Sep, http://permaculture.org.uk/education/course/internship-implement-new-sit...) to begin implementing the communal design on this new site, and provides a fantastic opportunity to deepen skills, learn and practice community building techniques and deepen new friendships. The 72hr course contains all the usual materials plus deeper looks around community building and decision making. We shall have the opportunity to focus on specific interests of the group whilst enriching the experience with activities such as film nights, Non violent communication, Five rhythms dance and other mini workshops to expand learning on many edges. Permaculture Design Course

The venue of this course is a spacious, recently built "passive house" combining insulation, ground source heat pump and woodburning thermal mass stove, part of a 45-acre farm set in acres of rolling Cambridgeshire countryside with fields, hedges and woodland. During the two weeks we will cover the certified 72-hour course programme, with plenty of tie to learn and work together, relax and socialise.
