This course covers in depth the permaculture design methods, ethics and green lifestyle, working with natural principles and practical skills and actions. There is also a 4 day practical design project included in the course, which will have a Transition Town / Energy Descent Action Plan influence. Hopefully by the end of the course we will have an Energy Descent Action Plan for Burnlaw. The course will also include guest teachers including Oran from Burnlaw and a day trip to another Permaculture project.

Learn about Foggage Farming (Arthur Hollins' organic system of grassland management at Fordhall), sustainable living, gardening, building, peak oil and more. Suitable for those interested in living a little more lightly on the planet, transition towns, or organic enthusiasts.

PLUS during this course we will be renovating the Old Dairy building on the farm to include classroom space, tearoom, toilets, showers and offices. We will be installing renewable energy, sheeps wool insulation, hemp and lime plasters and more. By attending this course you will get the unique opportunity to see some of these activities behind the scenes; enabling you to understand the benefits of each material/system for sustainability, as well as the many other aspects you will cover during the course.
