Summary:

This PDC will be run by 2 experienced permaculture practitioners and teachers who have been involved in permaculture since 1980's. (Rod Everett from Backsbottom Farm and Phil Allen from Northern Ireland.) It will take place on Backsbottom Farm a beautiful valley in the Forest of Bowland. The ancient semi natural woodland, wildflower hay meadows, organic orchards, restored blanket bog and river restoration project make an ideal site for exploring natures role in our understanding of Permaculture.
Practical projects on the farm such as cider and cider vinegar production, woodland crafts, off grid power, and low impact buildings help to enhance the course.
Creative teaching will be used during the course to mix learning with playful understanding and practical projects.

The New School Permaculture PDC is centred on the needs of the student. So you get what you need.
This course is presented by creative non formal education methods, that are based on creating a bridge between the right and left side of the brain, so that the analytical and creative abilities of the students get fully stimulated and get the most out of the experience...for many people is the most empowering and inspiring transformative process of their lives...and they carry this with them everywere they go....and thats our goal.

The course follows a set syllabus and leads to the internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate.

Taught by Helder Valente of the New School Permaculture. Helder studied and worked with Bill Mollison, Sepp Holzer, Doug Bullock, Rosemary Morrow, Darren dougherty, Ernst Gotsh and others, and is now teaching all over the world, he started in 2009 teaching permaculture to students at the agriculture university and since then learning and teaching on many different climates. While living in the city he dedicated 3 years on developing a urban permaculture project in the center of Lisbon and co created the Portuguese Permaculture Institute. That's how it all started. Helder never stopped and this last months spent his time working with Quechua farmers in the Andes and designing projects in the Amazon jungle.

Urban Permaculture Design Course
at silent green, Berlin, June 1-15 (2019)

Film Feld Forschung @ Silent Green Kulturquartier and 12P Permaculture Design invite you to a two-week intensive Permaculture Design Course (PDC), offering the internationally-recognized 72-hour permaculture curriculum. Our focus is on urban and social permaculture and how activist permaculture can work for climate justice and building a non-racist society where the permaculture ethic "People Care" is practised. We will explore soil as the ground we live on and with, as a contested and extracted medium; how practices of soil regeneration connect to how we live together; and how the ethics and principles of permaculture and regenerating soil relates to arts and film practices.

Permaculture Design Certification Course accredited by the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia

A program designed by Bill Mollison, the co-founder of permaculture, the Permaculture Design Certification Course (PDC) gives you both the vision and the practical tools you will need to realize your own piece of paradise, completely independent in terms of food and energy production.

Based on the best project planning practices, the PDC teaches you how to imitate natural systems, produce abundant food and energy, design and build energy-efficient homes, collect and use rainwater, create fertile soils, improve animal welfare and maximize their production and develop economic and legal systems that will create a society based on a new farming culture with a strong sense of solidarity.

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10154476349132534&type=1&l=7d8...

We are offering a highly affordable and beautiful experience of learning and inspiration, in our PDC course. Based in the natural and gorgeous surroundings of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it is a 16 day long residential course.
The intense theoretical lessons in the classroom are balanced out by practical workshops and exciting 'field trips' to visit two other permaculture projects in the local valleys and mountains. We feel it is important to see the subjects that we study being put into action, experiencing the ways people put permaculture in practice.
The local area also includes many opportunities for continuing your permaculture journey, such as Volunteering on farms, practising design skills, working at the local seed bank, it’s a hive of eco-minded activity!
Taught by local farmer Ras John Cresswell and with special guest teacher Cathy Whitefield, partner of famous U.K. permaculture godfather, Patrick Whitefield. The course will also include five other guest teachers.

This course will be held on the farm of SuperNatural, a beautiful mountainside project, And to keep the students happy there will be lots of fresh organic food coming straight out of the gardens. We are very blessed to be able to have our own spring water and an ancient flood-irrigation system.

This course has a maximum of 25 people, but we had many requests for the last course, so please be quick in booking if you want a place!
