This year our AGM is a little bit different. Last year we did it completely online which was great in many ways; for one it made it much easier for more people to take part as they didn't need to travel. But we really missed seeing you all in person!
So we're going to combine the two this year, but with an added twist (because we can't help shaking it up a bit). The AG(TP)M is going to be an opportunity to plant lots of trees at our venue - Stepney City Farm, a permaculture LAND centre - and around the UK. That's where you come in: we're hoping people will join us in person for a fantastic skills sharing day in London, but also for those who can't be there to help mark the occasion by planting a tree where they are (preferably one that will literally bear fruit for years to come). It will run from 10am until 5pm, beginning with refreshments, tree planting to warm us all up a bit, then the AGM between 11am and midday and a workshop session followed by lunch. The afternoon sessions will include the official launch of Gardens of Sanctuary, a partnership between the Permaculture Association, Social Farms and Gardens and the City of Sanctuary network. It's your chance to find out more about the resources and training materials being produced to encourage and support community gardens, city farms and other growing spaces to become places of welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the UK. Please give what you can afford - it costs us £10 per person for lunch, plus the venue hire, so anything you're able to give above that amount will be great. If you just want to come for the AGM and nothing else, that's free to members. Email [email protected] if you'd like this option. The AGM will also be live online on Zoom, with a link sent to members shortly before the event.
