The First Yorkshire Permaculture Gathering

 

You are warmly invited to the first Yorkshire gathering of permaculture people and projects. Programme highlights...

 

Forest Garden Masterclass with Tomas Remiarz. Tomas will lead a walk through Paddock Farm's forest garden, exploring design options and leading a practical activity. He will also present the findings from his research as set out in his new book.

 

Learn to Scythe! Rosie Lonnon from Edibles will show you how to mow with a scythe, and how to sharpen and maintain it.

 

Learn how to Make Charcoal & Biochar. Adrian Lovett will conduct a charcoal burn and explain the benefits of biochar for your soil. 

 

Be Inspired by Local Project Presentations. Several projects from the region will present their projects, sharing their experience learning.

 

People & Permaculture Design. Charlie Gray & Joy Howard will explore how permaculture principles can be applied to human relationships.

 

Diploma Inspiration! Four diploma tutors - Cathy Fowler, Joe Atkinson, Katie Shepherd and Pippa Chapman will present design case studies, host a Q & A session, offer tutorials and will be available to answer your questions about the diploma  

 

Help to plan the future of Permaculture in Yorkshire. Steve Smith from Edibles will facilitate a discussion on how we might collaborate more effectively on a regional basis

 

Get up to date on developments at the Permaculture Association. CEO, Andy Goldring will describe what the national Permaculture Association has been doing, set out its plans and explain how it can support you. 

 

Saturday Night Cabaret & Disco! Do you sing, play an instrument, recite poetry, tell stories, juggle pickled eggs? This is your chance to shine! There will be an informal cabaret where you will have the opportunity to show off your unique talent... participation is encouraged but definitely not compulsory!

 

Plant Sales. Pippa Chapman from Those Plant People will be bringing interesting plants to sell.

 

Free Graphic Novel! We have 60 coies of A Dream of a Low Carbon Future to give away. This Novel imagines Yorkshire in 2150 and places permaculture at the heart of its vision. A wonderful educational resource that provides a way for children, adolescents and adults to explore a positive vision of the future and learn about permaculture and sustainability.

 

Yoga. Helen White will be leading an Iyenga yoga session on Sunday morning.
