Marlborough is a small market town, nestling in the Wiltshire Downs. We'd love to show you what three years of transition and urban permaculture has done for our town. Since Marlborough is just a bike ride from the World Heritage site at Avebury we have included a visit to the Neolithic Stone Circle and Kennet Long Barrow in the tour. Visits to Shumei Natural Farm, a foraging walk and energy-efficient houseboats on the Kennet-Avon canal, are also planned. We'll pick you up from Bedwyn railway station; bed, breakfast and lunch will be provided by local permaculturalists in and around the town

Transition Marlborough has been running the 10 session Practical Permaculture for Transition training course since 2012
( see: http://www.transitionmarlborough.org/Practical+Permaculture+for+Transition+Course )

We are keen to show off what we have done so far and learn from other people who are practising urban permaculture in different parts of the world. We have prepared a 4-day programme consisting of garden tours, a foraging walk and visits to the Kennet-Avon canal, Shumei Natural Farm ( see: http://shumei.eu/yatesbury/ ) Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill and Kennet Long Barrow ( see: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/avebury/ )
