What is My Green Community?

My Green Community is our annual celebration of all of the fantastic grassroots practical permaculture work done by our network of projects and LAND Centres around the UK.  It is taking place between the 1st- 30th September 2023

This is an opportunity for those of you who run projects to open your doors to your community, to show them how great what you do is and to invite them to get involved.

For many of the projects that took part last year, My Green Community events helped to attract new volunteers, build new partnerships, raise the profile of the project in the community and make some much needed funds.

There were 43 My Green Community events in 2022. Let's make this year even bigger and better!

We are delighted to be running this event in collaboration with Communities for Future's European Day of Sustainable Communities.

How do I get Involved?

It's really easy to get involved. Simply decide what type of event you would like to run, pick your date and fill in the application form below.

There will be lots of extra publicity and support available for projects taking part in My Green Community. Each project will be given access to resources and online sessions to help you plan your event. We'll also map your event on the European Day of Sustainable Communities Website and create an event listing for you on our Permaculture Association website.

Taking part in My Green Community is a great way to let the people where you live know about your work, to get involved with what you do and to be able to take positive action towards earth care, people care and fair shares.

Click the green button below to fill in the My Green Community application form. Applications will be automatically submitted.

The team at the Great Big Green Week have put together this excellent inspiration pack to give you more ideas for your event.

Can I Get Funding for My Event?

If you are running your event between the 1st-30th September, you can apply for a £50 pot of funding from our My Green Community Fund to help you to cover expenses. All we ask for is some photos and videos of your event and for you to fill in a short feedback form once your event has taken place.
