Permaculture on BBC2

A Farm for the Future - Permaculture on BBC 2

BBC TV have contacted us about a programme, A Farm for the Future, which is to be broadcast on Friday 20th February on BBC 2 at 8pm (repeated Sunday 22nd).

The programme is part of the Natural World series and features permaculture. We have not yet seen the film but understand it covers the basics of peak oil and permaculture and we would love you to see it and to tell others about it. The film is aimed at a prime-time Friday night audience, and it is hoped that it will be a useful film for introducing people to self-reliance and for Transitions Towns to use as a tool to educate their communities.

Association members Patrick Whitefield, Chris and Lyn Dixon at Tir Penrhos Isaf, and the Hollins at Fordhall Farm feature alongside Martin Crawford at the Agroforestry Research Trust in Dartington, Dr Colin Campbell, and Richard Heinberg. Exceprts from the excellent recent Soil Association Transition Conference include Rosie Boycott, Peter Melchett, Patrick Holden, Monty Don, Tim Lang, and Jeremy Leggett.

The Permaculture Association and Permaculture Magazine are keen for people to be introduced to permaculture and this is an excellent way to do it – please tell people about the programme. Details on the BBC website can be found here.
