Permaculture Works - the members newsletter

 

Permaculture Works has, for many years been the key method of communication within the Permaculture Association network. It’s a testament to our members that we still manage to keep the content 100% member-based. For that, we thank you!

Because its written by members, Permaculture Works is always varied and interesting - if you have a feature or a creative piece you think other members will be interested in please do jot down your ideas and send them over.

Please send your news items for our News-Go-Round, your letters about all matters permaculture and permaculture designs for the centre pages to inspire and help other members.

Call for content
 
The newsletter typically requires content for the following pages:
 
4 pages Network news 
3 pages of features
3 pages for the LAND project
2 pages of Association news
2 pages of members’ letters
2 pages (centre spread) for a permaculture design
2 pages of courses and events
2 pages for International news
1 page for diploma news and permaculture research
1 page for a Business Member Spotlight
1 page of opportunities and livelihoods
1 page of reviews (books, DVDs and videos)
 
The back page spotlights a different permaculture principle each issue. Share your experience of how you apply a particular principle in your project, and what you've learned about it. 
 
How much can I write?
 
A maximum of 550 words can fit comfortably on a page with an image or two. This can be stretched to a maximum of 700 words without an image, but at least one per page is preferable.
 
• Network News items – please keep short and to the point from just one line up to 300 words.
• Features – take up one page so a maximum word count of between 550 and 500 words.
• Reviews – 350 words – these can be reviews of books, DVDs and videos that you can recommend to others.
 
Images
 
Where possible, please supply a couple of images as part of your submission. These should be of around 1MB in file size and be of a ‘high’ quality and large dimensions in order for it to replicate in print.
 
Please also accompany each image with a caption and photographer’s credit.
