…as an activist
'Activist' is a word that means different things to different people. We just mean people that are working in their community, neighbourhood or workplace to change things. This can sometimes be a challenging place to be - people often like things as they are and don't see the need for change. The good news is that there are many millions of people working across the world to help make it happier, healthier and fairer - you are not alone!
The permaculture principles are a useful guide to being an effective activist - 'use small and slow solutions' for example - building support and engaging people step by step, changing things through steady persistence.
Key to successful activism is networking, and the Association can provide you with lists of other members in your area. The 'people, projects' places section will also provide links to other people and groups near you. If you are active in permaculture, do add your project details, and join the Association so we can help to connect you to others.
